Choose a job

Quick take

Summed up from the sections below, where the details and exceptions are; sources are listed at the end of the page.

What it plays like

  • A melee job that gets hit a lot: wear defensive gear, and value speed even more (Iron Body, overalls, speed pills, snow shoes and the Skull Helmet all add speed).
  • By late 3rd job you juggle six buffs, so the pet auto-buff skill is strongly recommended.

Stats

  • Shared by warriors: start with 4 INT and 4 LUK, job advancement needs 35 STR; the rest goes into STR, with DEX only as needed to hit your target monsters (1 DEX = 0.8 accuracy, 1 LUK = 0.5). 35 DEX is enough until Lv.70 if you don't fight above your level.

Skill build

Click a skill for the skill database; the number after the slash is its max level. SP per job: 61 at 1st (67 for magicians), 121 at 2nd, 151 at 3rd.

Beginner

Beginner

  1. 1Three SnailsLv.3/3
  2. 2RecoveryLv.3/3
  • Artale's Three Snails uses no snail shells, so it carries you through the early levels.
  • Heal now restores HP over a minute and saves a lot of potions early on; Nimble Feet 3 is fine too if you want speed.
1st job

Swordman

SP 61
  1. 1Improving HP RecoveryLv.5/16
  2. 2Improving Max HP IncreaseLv.10/10
  3. 3Power StrikeLv.1/20
  4. 4Slash BlastLv.20/20
  5. 5EndureLv.3/8
  6. 6Iron BodyLv.19/20
  7. 7Power StrikeLv.4/20
  • Artale maps spawn densely, so the area skill Slash Blast beats single-target Power Strike; max Slash Blast first.
  • Iron Body gives +10 speed in Artale; level 19 is enough (19 and 20 only differ in duration).
  • HP Recovery and Endure also work while moving.
2nd job

Fighter

SP 121
  1. 1Sword MasteryLv.19/20
  2. 2Sword BoosterLv.6/20
  3. 3Final Attack : SwordLv.30/30
  4. 4Power StrikeLv.20/20
  5. 5Power GuardLv.30/30
  6. 6RageLv.20/20
  • With an axe, take the axe versions (Axe Mastery, Axe Booster, Final Attack: Axe).
  • Mastery to 19 first, since damage swings a lot; Booster 6 lasts a minute (1 is enough with a pet auto-buff).
  • Artale removed the damage drop-off when Final Attack hits several monsters, so it is worth maxing.
  • Power Guard lasts five minutes in Artale and saves a lot of potions.
3rd job

Crusader

SP 151
  1. 1Combo AttackLv.1/30
  2. 2Coma: SwordLv.11/30
  3. 3Combo AttackLv.30/30
  4. 4Coma: SwordLv.30/30
  5. 5Panic : SwordLv.30/30
  6. 6Armor CrashLv.20/20
  • Combo Attack goes from 140% to 150% in Artale and stacks 5 orbs from level 1, making Crusader one of the strongest 3rd jobs.
  • Armor Crash became a self buff: ignore 5% of a monster's weapon defense.
  • 11 points left to spend as you like. Use the axe versions with an axe.
4th job

Hero

Build 1Power Stance first
  1. 1RushLv.1/30
  2. 2Advanced Combo AttackLv.1/30
  3. 3Power StanceLv.1/30
  4. 4BrandishLv.30/30
  5. 5Advanced Combo AttackLv.30/30
  6. 6Power StanceLv.30/30
  7. 7Maple WarriorLv.9/30
  8. 8Monster MagnetLv.30/30
  9. 9AchillesLv.30/30
  10. 10EnrageLv.30/30
  • Start with Rush 1 (pushes monsters) and Advanced Combo 1 (the basic boost); while leveling Brandish, put 1 into Power Stance for the pet to cast.
  • Brandish hits 1 / 2 / 3 monsters from level 1 / 11 / 21; get it to 30 as fast as you can. Advanced Combo has 10 orbs at 25, and 25 → 30 only adds 5% (210% → 215%).
  • Leafre maps (solo Skelegons, party Jr. Newties) are small, so Monster Magnet can’t shine and Build 1 maxes Power Stance first. In Artale, Monster Magnet at 30 always triggers and reaches 300 instead of 200, so take it to 30 or not at all. Build 2 goes for Magnet 30 right after Brandish 30, which makes training absurdly fast.

Leveling route

Level ranges are suggestions; later stages list several options to pick from by accuracy, damage and potion budget. EXP is a rough figure per 10 minutes, often with Holy Symbol or event bonuses.

  1. 1–14Lv
    Solo

    Maple Island and job quests

  2. 14–25Lv
    Solo

    the empty house in Henesys

Drops Shoe for Jump 10%; do the Ellinia 99-kill board quests (Green, Horny, Zombie Mushrooms, Fire Boars). Throw snails until Lv.16, then Slash Blast.

  3. 25–35Lv
    Solo

    Drops the Lv.35 Lionheart.

  4. 35–42Lv
    Solo

    East Rocky Mountain VI

  5. 35–50Lv
    Party

    Ludibrium Party Quest

The fastest with a party; 15 runs for the glasses.

  6. 45–50Lv
    Solo

    Drake Hunting Ground

    Drakes once your accuracy allows.

  7. 51–70Lv
    Solo

Less EXP than Orbis PQ EXP runs, but it makes money.

  8. 51–70Lv
    Party~100k–150k/10 min

    Orbis PQ EXP runs

The best EXP, but no money.

  9. 71–100Lv
    Party~110k–130k/10 min

Pirate PQ, Romeo & Juliet PQ

Do Romeo & Juliet at 71–85 for the necklace; the Pirate PQ hat is the best hat before the Zakum helmet.

  10. 71–82Lv
    Solo
  11. 70–90Lv
    Solo

Taipei 101 Celebrity Avenue (CD monsters)

Solo training at Lv.70–80 is slow for 3rd job warriors; step back a map if needed. South Celebrity Avenue gets easier on accuracy from 76.

  12. 90–120Lv
    Solo

Deep Sea Gorge II fish houses; Blue Wyvern's Nest

Fish houses make money (about 129 accuracy); Blue Wyverns need about 141 and lose money.

  13. 110–150Lv
    Solo

Leafre, Nest of a Dead Dragon (Skelegons)

Leafre maps are small, so max Power Stance before Monster Magnet.

  14. 110–150Lv
    Party

    Destroyed Dragon Nest (Jr. Newties)

A party map; about 141 accuracy.

  15. 140–200Lv
    Solo

Temple of Time, Road to Oblivion 1–6

Solo and profitable. Accuracy: Monks 150, Trainees 158, Guardians 165, Chief Guardians 173.

  16. 125–165Lv
    SoloParty~3.5M–4.3M/10 min

    Singapore, Central Way 2

Touch damage only, no magic, so cheap on potions; solo or a group of 2–3.

  17. 140–190Lv
    Solo~3.25M–3.7M/10 min

    Singapore, Ghost Ship 1/2/5/6

Small, dense and easier to find empty, but monsters hit hard.

  18. 150–200Lv
    Solo~4M–5M/10 min

Ulu Estate I/II, Entrance / Centre of / Along the Ulu City

Ghost Ship 6 with modest gear, Ulu Estate II with strong gear; on Along the City, a figure-eight route (middle layer up in the center, bottom at both ends, skip the top) avoids the ropes.

Gear

  • Sky-blue overall from Lv.25 to 70 (pants can take jump scrolls); snow shoes +7 speed at 30; Skull Helmet with helmet DEX scrolls at 42.
  • Highland Blade with accuracy scrolls at 35; a 5 ATT warrior glove from the auction; any cape with 5+ STR.
  • At Lv.70, the Fire katana (fastest speed). Before 70, only the glove and weapon matter; plain gear is fine elsewhere.
