Artale Corsair Guide
Pirate → Gunslinger → Outlaw → Corsair
Choose a job
Quick take
- The 4th job has 2 builds: Build 1 (No-Battleship build (training)), Build 2 (Torpedo build (Battleship, for bossing)); pick by your situation and see "Skill build" for the order.
- After Lv.120 there are 4 places to train (2 of them work with a party); the best reported EXP is Ulu Estate I/II, Entrance / Centre of / Along the Ulu City, about 4.9M per 10 minutes solo.
- In Singapore the best report is Ulu Estate II: a median of about 4.9M per 10 minutes (1 report, Lv.178).
Summed up from the sections below, where the details and exceptions are; sources are listed at the end of the page.
What it plays like
- Pros: high mobility (fast from 1st job, jump-shooting, plus Artale's own flying and gliding); 3rd job Flamethrower burns train comfortably; Octopi become a main damage source in 4th job, with top single-target damage, solid training and little need for buffs.
- Cons: average damage in 1st and 2nd job; no damage cut or survival skill (late game depends on HP washing); some field bosses need care; can't clear the orbs at the bell tower; no support skills, so less party flexibility; busy hands for training and bossing.
Stats
- The Taiwan server gives no 20k starter mesos at advancement: finish the instructor quests with a one-handed weapon and snail shells, then buy a gun and bullets. The Lv.10 bullets (+10 attack) are at the weapon shop on the far left of the Nautilus middle deck.

EXP is the median of player reports per 10 minutes from Sep 2026 (before the 9/29 update), mixing runs with and without Holy Symbol and event bonuses — a rough guide only.
- Few Corsair reports so far: Central Way 2 about 3–4.3M, Ulu Estate II about 4.9M.
Skill build
Click a skill for the skill database; the number after the slash is its max level. SP per job: 61 at 1st (67 for magicians), 121 at 2nd, 151 at 3rd.
Beginner
- Artale's Three Snails uses no snail shells, so it carries you through the early levels.
- Heal now restores HP over a minute and saves a lot of potions early on; Nimble Feet 3 is fine too if you want speed.
Pirate
SP 61- A Gunslinger needs about 8,000 mesos for a gun and bullets; bullets are equipment in Artale and are never used up, but you cannot use two elements at once.
- Double Shot goes 80% → 110% in Artale.

WingsLv.10/10 - 7
Blank ShotLv.20/20 - 8
GrenadeLv.12/20
- Grenade lost its damage and hits one monster, but lowers weapon defense by 10% for 10 s.
Outlaw
SP 151- 1
FlamethrowerLv.30/30 - 2
Ice SplitterLv.26/30 - 3
OctopusLv.21/30 - 4
Burst FireLv.20/20 - 5
OctopusLv.30/30 - 6
Homing BeaconLv.30/30 - 7
GaviotaLv.15/30
- Max Flamethrower first and burn monsters to train (fast but potion-hungry); it is usable once it hits five, and holding Ice Splitter 1 alongside it smooths it out.
- Octopus, Homing Beacon, Gaviota and Burst Fire are all 4th job prerequisites; Burst Fire is also your 3rd job bossing skill.
- Flamethrower now burns 2.5% of the monster's HP per second for 40 s.

Wrath of the OctopiLv.20/20 - 2
Rapid FireLv.21/30 - 3
Maple WarriorLv.9/30 - 4
Rapid FireLv.30/30 - 5
Aerial StrikeLv.30/30 - 6
BullseyeLv.20/20
- Wrath of the Octopi 20 is a must; cast it whenever it is ready. Build 1 is the no-Battleship build, the easiest for training. Also, Rapid Fire 21 plus Maple Warrior 9 is slightly stronger than Rapid Fire 30 with no Maple Warrior, so party players can go this way; skills stop at 21 first because 20 → 21 is the biggest jump.
- Aerial Strike and Bullseye can swap: Bullseye 20 pays off once Rapid Fire fires about 8.4 shots (1 second) at the target, so if you boss a lot and don’t mind tossing it while training, Bullseye before Aerial Strike barely slows training. At Lv.151, Rapid Fire 30, Octopi 20 and Maple Warrior 9 give about 2.5M EXP per 10 minutes.
- The Elemental Boost 30 book comes from Hard Papulatus, so it is not recommended at first; Elemental Boost 20 is about as good as Aerial Strike 20 and cheaper on potions, so it also works.
- The torpedo build’s cannon mode adds limited damage and costs a lot of training speed, so it is only for players who mostly boss. Around Lv.146 you can go Rapid Fire 21, Torpedo 21 and Battleship 10 first so the torpedo is usable sooner.
- Artale changes: Battleship durability is 80,000 + (level − 100) × 3,000 and it can jump; Rapid Fire 160% → 200%; Hypnotize now raises a monster’s drop rate by 20% (not bosses); Bullseye has less end lag, lasts 30 s longer and deals 20% more.
Leveling route
Level ranges are suggestions; later stages list several options to pick from by accuracy, damage and potion budget. EXP is a rough figure per 10 minutes, often with Holy Symbol or event bonuses.

Ulu Estate I/II, Entrance / Centre of / Along the Ulu City

Tips
- Pet potions: HP for zero overheal = the monster's max hit + the potion; if your HP is short, set it at the monster's max hit and accept overhealing.
- Every Corsair 4th job skill comes with the advancement or from quests, so there are no books to hunt.
- Burning two maps is risky: once you leave one, it's no longer yours, and you must give way.
